Filter elements and media for ballast water filtration
Optimized plain dutch weaves (OT) from GKD are used as filter meshes in systems for the filtration of ballast water in marine applications. The very corrosive environment of seawater and the desired quality in filtration and separation for environmental protection concerns are a demanding combination that requires the use of specially developed OT metal mesh. The good regenerability of the wire cloth and the use of high-alloy materials such as duplex, super duplex or nickel-based materials enable long and continuous operation of the cartridge filters.
For the filtration of ballast water in shipbuilding, we manufacture separately developed stainless steel meshes, semi-finished products and filter cartridges as components for use in the filter systems of our OEM customers. Thanks to their efficiency, GKD meshes make an important contribution to environmental protection.

Stainless steel mesh and filter elements for microscreening
GKD stainless steel meshes are also used for fine filtration of wastewater. Due to the precisely defined pore geometry, the optimized plain dutch weave (OT) ensures an exact separation rate while maintaining high flow rates. The high mechanical strength allows long-term use in typical apparatus such as disc or drum filters. Existing manufacturing technologies are the basis for precisely adapted clothing processes for the respective stainless steel meshes and individual segments of the filter apparatus. For microscreening in wastewater, we manufacture optimized stainless steel plain dutch weaves (OT) as well as complete screen and filter segments for the respective types of equipment.
