About our traineeships
Your training at GKD generally starts in August and lasts for between two and three-and-a-half years, depending on the trade or profession. A traineeship can also be shortened depending on your previous knowledge and experience.
Training manager Sabine Küppers-Rößling is your direct contact for all questions concerning training. Both she and our trainers and mentors are there to ensure you find your place quickly at GKD.
Industrial Management Assistant (m/f/d)
As an industrial management assistant at GKD, there are numerous opportunities to contribute with your strengths and talents. Comprehensive training in various areas provides you with a broad range of specialist knowledge. In purchasing, the task is to assist in the preparation or review of quotations. In marketing, skills are developed to present products in a creative way. In human resources, students learn how to manage and recruit employees for GKD. In finance and accounting, the focus is on ensuring solid figures for the company.
Digitalization Management Assistant (m/f/d)
As a digitalization management assistant at GKD, processes are driven forward and optimized with suitable IT systems to make them faster and more error-free. Together with colleagues and individual departments, business processes are analyzed to determine the need for new information and telecommunications technology. We then ensure that the appropriate technology is procured, that employees are trained in it and that it functions optimally. Support is also offered to colleagues if computers or headsets do not work as desired.
Industrial Mechanic (m/f/d)
As an industrial mechanic, hands and head are used to keep the machines running or to put them into operation. In the technical weaving department, suitable tools and machine parts are planned and manufactured. The machines are also set up or converted for specific purposes. To ensure a smooth production process, any faults that occur are identified and rectified. Creativity and an affinity for technology are encouraged by creating and interpreting technical data and drawings in order to further optimize the performance of the machines.
Electronic Technician for Operating Technology (m/f/d)
As an electronics technician for operating technology, you will ensure that the machines remain permanently efficient and do not run out of power. The tasks include the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical operating, production and process systems at GKD. This creates the basic conditions for smooth operation. If faults occur, the fault is identified and rectified. This often requires patience and a sure instinct, as the processes are closely interlinked and production is very large.
Machine and Plant Operator (m/f/d)
As a machine and plant operator, you will work directly on the weaving process to ensure that the machines produce high-quality products. The focus is on the weaving machines, which are set up, operated and converted as required. The tasks also include servicing and maintaining the machines. Wearing parts are replaced in good time and the weaving process is monitored. If faults occur, they are rectified to ensure that everything runs smoothly. A close eye helps to ensure quality.
Production Mechanic (m/f/d)
This is the right place for those who have successfully completed their training as a machine and plant operator and are looking for further challenges. The focus is on the weaving machines, which are set up, operated and converted as required. The tasks also include servicing and maintaining the machines. Wearing parts are replaced in time and the weaving process is monitored. In addition, the material flow is checked to ensure that the processes mesh smoothly. In the event of delays, errors are detected and solutions sought.
Warehouse Specialist (m/f/d)
As a warehouse specialist, head and muscle power are used to complete your tasks. You will learn to keep an overview, organize and ensure the quality of the products. The tasks include preparing the products for dispatch and packing them well so they reach our customers safely and undamaged. In addition to preparing the goods for dispatch, the proper storage, quality control and labeling of the goods must always be kept in mind. These tasks are easily accomplished by actively moving the goods from A to B in the warehouse.
Textile Laboratory Assistant (m/f/d)
As a textile laboratory assistant, you ensure that the products reach the customer free of defects and in high quality. Quality assurance is the daily business. Defects are investigated and precise process monitoring is carried out. If defects are detected, the search for evidence begins in order to uncover faults in the production process. This ensures that only flawless working materials are processed for customers and released for sale. Creativity is required when it comes to developing new products or researching suitable textile solutions.
Or apply on your own initiative…
Do you develop innovative ideas, strategies, and concepts for the future and push these forward with courage and enthusiasm? Do you inspire your colleagues and your environment with your power of persuasion? Do you like to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in? Then you’re very welcome here!
