High-grade, transparent solar protection façade bearing the logo of the FIU Panthers – located directly above the entrance to the U.S. Century Bank Arena.
The design produced by the architects at Gould-Evans was masterfully implemented using Omega 1520 architectural mesh. The suspended solar protection façade made of five metal mesh panels, each measuring around 30 m², reliably keeps out direct sunlight.
A large version of the logo used by FIU's sports teams was applied to the mesh using the etching process. The transparency and sustainable properties of the GKD stainless steel mesh, such as durability, weather resistance, ease of maintenance and recyclability, remain intact.
The stainless steel mesh solar protection façade makes the arena an architectural landmark for university sport in Miami.
