Your Tasks

In our IT Demand team, you will take care of IT-OT integration and ensure the support, operation and further development of production-related IT / OT systems (MES). 

  • Product and process owner in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) environment with a focus on machine integration
  • Identifying and recording the requirements of the business and specialist departments or subsidiaries and providing support in defining the technical requirements and translating them into functional requirements
  • Support, maintenance and further development of harmonized machine interfaces across all plants
  • Integration of machines into the Business Application Network - from structured and unstructured raw data to the standardized data model
    • Creation of standardized machine profiles together with technical departments
    • Setting up the controller-specific (proprietary/RFC1006/OPCUA/...) machine data interfaces with the help of tools such as edgeConnector and OPC Router
    • Support, operation and further development of the interface to the MES
    • Support, operation and further development of the databases for storing and processing machine data (TimescaleDB)
    • Ensuring data quality
  • Defining and ensuring group-wide standards for the connection of existing machinery and new machines to be purchased (internal and external coordination with technical departments and suppliers)
  • Managing the implementation, test and production/rollout phases together with the project manager and IT team leader
  • Knowledge transfer, go-live support and handover to technical departments in the plants, creation and updating of process-related documentation

Your Profile

  • A successfully completed Bachelor's degree, e.g. in engineering, electrical engineering, business informatics or comparable technical training
  • Several years of experience (at least 3-5 years) in the PLC environment
  • First points of contact with an MES and machine data connection (PLC, databases, OPC-UA, MQTT) 
  • Strong understanding of and interest in technical processes and IT
  • Affinity to the industry and great self-interest in continuous and sustainable improvement approaches and their implementation
  • Fluent German and good to very good English skills
  • Independent, structured and results-oriented way of working
  • Team player with strong communication skills and persuasiveness
  • Willingness to travel internationally
