Shining architectural mesh shell: Louis Vuitton’s shoe manufacturing facility

Omega 1520 metal mesh adds a special architectural touch as façade cladding for the shoe manufacturing facility of Louis Vuitton. Moreover, the architectural mesh provides solar protection in the inner courtyard.

The Sandrolini architectural firm in Paris designed the façade of the new factory of the luxury brand Louis Vuitton in the Italian town of Fiesso d’Artico using Omega 1520 stainless steel mesh.

A total of 114 individual metal mesh elements encase the four main façades of the building and are also fitted in the inner courtyard as horizontal solar protection elements. The architectural mesh covers a total of 2,025 m² and is fastened in place using the Fusiomesh NG system. With this special mounting method, the metal mesh is glued and tensioned between stainless steel profiles at the top and bottom edge.
