Transparent solar protection made of metallic mesh for the Mark Jefferson Science Complex in Michigan, USA.
Working in collaboration with the architects at Lord Aeck & Sargent, GKD developed large-format vertical shading louvers using Omega 1510 architectural mesh. The 89 individual elements of the solar protection system with a total area of 929 m² offer improved energy efficiency, while also providing transparency on every story.
This solar protection with GKD architectural mesh was awarded LEED Silver certification.
