Wire mesh balustrades from GKD provide safety and protection at the National Convention Centre in Doha, Qatar. In addition their design impresses with cool functionality.
Arata Isozaki's spectacular new building for the National Convention Centre in Qatar also boasts an equally stunning parking garage with a façade reminiscent of randomly arranged Mikado sticks. The parking garage was designed by WS Atkins.
Unlike the façade, the stairwells are dominated by clear forms. Balustrade elements filled with the double-warp stainless steel mesh Futura 2100 play a key role in this. The mesh panels, some of which were shaped into parallelograms, were mounted in frames made up of flat steel bars.
