Under the motto “GKD invites you”, our company opened its doors on June 17, 2025, exactly 100 years to the day after it was officially founded, to celebrate a very special anniversary together with members of the owner families, employees, their families, neighbors, retirees and guests from politics and business: 100 years of GKD. The day was characterized by a successful mix of celebratory retrospection, lively exchange and an optimistic view of the future.

The event kicked off with a festive ceremony in the morning, at which representatives from politics and business took the floor alongside the management. In their speeches, they paid tribute to GKD’s impressive development over the course of a century – from its beginnings as a small family business to today’s international technology leader.

When we look back on this development, it quickly becomes clear that our past was always conceived as the future, that we always looked ahead; courage and greed for new things have characterized all these generations and have been the constant throughout all these decades.”

Afterwards, guests were able to take a look behind the scenes on production tours and experience how innovation and craftsmanship complement each other at GKD. Culinary delights, live music and a graffiti artist created a relaxed and creative atmosphere on the central fairground. What was particularly nice was that many former colleagues took the opportunity to rekindle old contacts and share memories.

The “starting signal for the next century” was also an opportunity to look ahead. The anniversary celebration was not only a thank you to all those who have shaped GKD, but also a strong signal for the future – supported by community, innovative strength and the firm will to continue to shape the next 100 years successfully.
