Resonance frequency is the natural frequency of a system capable of oscillation at which particularly large amplitudes occur. In filtration and drying systems, components such as belts, frames, or pipelines can enter resonance when excited by periodic forces (pumps, motors, vibrations). This leads to amplified oscillations that can cause material fatigue, noise, and malfunctions. The resonance frequency depends on the mass, stiffness, and damping of the system. When designing GKD process belts, resonance is taken into account: material thicknesses, the geometry of tensioning devices, and bearing arrangements are selected so that natural frequencies lie outside operating frequencies. Additionally, vibration dampers or variable speeds can be used to avoid resonance.
