The drainage surface is the structure within a filter or belt that enables the outflow of the filtered liquid. A drainage mesh consists of coarse fabrics or profiles positioned beneath the actual filter medium, creating a free space for liquid to drain away. This layer helps reduce pressure drop and allows the filter cake to form evenly.
