10. March 2025Belt Discharge
In conveyor and filtration technology, belt discharge describes the controlled removal of material from a conveyor belt. In belt filters or dewatering belts, belt discharge is an important moment because the filter cake that has built up on the belt falls off at this point and is further processed. The design of the belt end, the deflection rollers, and the belt speed determine how well the cake is discharged without leaving any residue. Correct adjustment prevents parts of the cake from sticking to the belt or returning to the filtration zone. GKD manufactures process belts with optimized surface properties that facilitate discharge and reduce cleaning intervals. The choice of material—for example, stainless steel or plastic—and the mesh structure influence the static friction between the product and the belt. Through targeted adjustments, such as conical deflection rollers or special scrapers, we help customers achieve clean belt discharge and increase throughput.
