The SEGD Design Award, or, Merit Award, celebrates outstanding design in the fields of environmental and landscape graphic design. GKD received this award for the Indemann, a 36-meter-high viewing platform with the patented stainless steel mesh ILLUMESH®. The accessible steel sculpture, which resembles an early robot, was erected in the autumn of 2009 on a regional brown coal waste tip as a symbol of the structural evolution of this former mining region.
