The team

The Information Technology (IT Supply) team at the headquarters in Düren is responsible for vendor and service management. This involves a constant exchange with colleagues from IT Demand as well as internal and external service providers and specialist departments. Data center operation, the provision of IT equipment, and collaboration in national and international projects are just part of the extensive and complex area of responsibility.

Your tasks

• Ensure the efficient and smooth operation of all IT systems as a member of the IT Supply team
• Perform needs analysis, consulting, and procurement of hardware and software
• Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual MS Windows and Linux servers as well as LAN/VLAN/WLAN/VPN network structures
• Perform administration for the servers, clients, and applications on the basis of security guidelines, including access authorizations
• Perform fault analysis in the event of malfunctions in the hardware and software in cooperation with the corresponding service providers
• Provide technical support for the specialist departments in solving problems in IT systems (1st and 2nd level support)
• Create and update technical documentation and training documentation and hold training sessions

Your profile

• Completed studies in the field of information technology or training as an information technology clerk, IT specialist for system integration, or comparable training
• At least three years of professional experience (support, monitoring, and maintenance of IT systems)
• Affinity for qualified customer support
• Very good knowledge of MS Windows server and client administration as well as virtualized server environments
• Sound network knowledge / practical experience in switching and routing
• Basic knowledge of firewall, backup, output management systems, and telecommunication systems
• Analytical and technical understanding combined with a structured way of working and strong problem-solving skills
• Independent, solution-oriented, and flexible way of working with a strong sense of responsibility
• Strong communication and teamwork skills as well as the willingness and ability to familiarize yourself with new topics
• Very good German and good English skills
